“WORLDS IN THE MAKING II”, a project by Simorgh aimed at the uplift of the student/teacher community to enhance productivity by inculcating a sense of teaching and education based on participatory learning, creative thinking and unbiased analytical approaches.

Amongst the aims, we wish to achieve in the tenure of one year, creating a cadre of enlightened public/private sector school teachers, developing linkages between the home based teachers, public/private schools, the classroom and the external community are of the utmost importance.

Teachers from selected schools as participants in teacher’s workshops on participatory learning and human rights concepts, their students and school management committees are the direct beneficiaries of the work being done whereas the indirect beneficiaries are the parents of these very students and the external community involved.

We plan to hold Need Based Assessment visits to class-rooms, teacher’s participatory learning workshops, develop a bilingual primer, harness the reach of social media to further research and project oriented goals, and assess the achievements through a final project impact assessment.

Amongst the activities being carried out Need Based Assessments and Teacher’s workshops have been carried out and the rest are in progress. Work on a 3 tri-lingual primer is underway . All together a total of 10 comprehensive activities have been planned to cater to needs of the project.

This project is currently addressing the issues of Pakistan’s failing education policy, narrowly premised textbooks, and lack of Incentivisation in educational programs, uninterested teachers and inept students. The main target group being 18 schools (9 public and 9 private schools) and random home based teachers.
